So, I got two calls from United Utilities. The first one was about some brown water being reported, then about a day later, they called again about a big water main burst on a road just a short distance from my place. I didn’t have any brown water myself, but some folks a bit further down did. Our water pressure was really low for a good few hours while they sorted the burst pipe. The road damage looks pretty bad and will need several weeks to fix, especially since it’s a busy street. They also sent me an email to confirm everything.

Loads of calls coming in but the messages are just nonsense, all we catch is “sorry for inconvenience”. There's some water leaks happening on our road at the moment, and not long ago one burst through the street, shooting water like a fountain, proper geyser style haha. Got a call on my home phone yesterday from someone claiming to be United Utilities, warning me my water was about to be cut off. I found it odd since nothing actually happened, and when I looked on their website, everything seemed normal in my area. Then today, the same number rang me again saying the water was back on. My taps have worked fine all along, so I'm pretty sure it was a dodgy call trying to scam me.

Got a call from this number loads of times, with a message saying somethin like "sorry for the inconvenience, engineers are fixing the issue". I tried 1471 and it told me that this number isn’t even active! Quite weird!

I nearly forgot to mention, after I checked the number with 1471 and called it back, a voice speaking what sounded like Dutch or some foreign language came on, then she repeated the message in English - quite unsettling!
