Got a call from 0161 604 1768 asking if I’d been in any accidents lately. Tried ringing back, but the line was dead. Definitely sounds like a scam.

This call was definitely a scam, be careful!

Kept ringing the number a bunch of times but all I got was a constant beep sound. To me, that kind of suggests it was a wrong number. I’ve seen the same thing happen with calls coming from abroad, and after digging around a bit, I found out that some firms can actually purchase a landline number that appears on your caller ID as if it’s from Manchester, England, like this one. It’s definitely a scam in my opinion.

Linking back to what I said before about calling this number - I often got mixed results. At times it was busy, other times the network said the number didn't exist. This was mostly when I called outside of business hours. However, when I tried again during normal working hours the next day, the results shifted a bit. Eventually, I managed to connect with a legal company based in Manchester named DWF Law LLP, located at 1 Scott Place, Hardman Street, Manchester M3 3AA. Apparently, they have a reputation for bothering people.

I noticed they'd tried to ring me, so I gave them a call back. But every time I did, it was either just busy or my phone kept saying it was the wrong number. Quite odd!
