I got a call from this number claiming I was owed a tax refund with interest from some government department. They asked me to verify my email, home address and full name. But HMRC normally only writes to you, they mentioned an address I'd never lived at and said I’d made a claim which wasn’t true. Plus, I know HMRC doesn’t pay interest on any money owed. It felt like a total scam so I just hung up without sharing anything.
