01615502131 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01615502131 👆 is reported as associated with persistent scam and phishing attempts, often using spoofed UK numbers to mask their origin, which is frequently abroad. Callers posing as representatives from various organisations, including fictitious companies like “Advantage,” HMRC, or accident investigators, use aggressive or deceptive tactics to elicit personal or financial information. Blocking these numbers is often ineffective due to the use of numerous rotating or fake caller IDs. Victims are strongly encouraged to report these calls via official police fraud websites and to notify their MPs to prompt legislative action against such scams. Vigilance and prompt reporting are essential tools to help law enforcement understand and combat the growing scale of this fraud.

If you check the three comments below, they explain how to properly report these scam calls if you’re really keen on putting a stop to them. The police have no clue how bad this fraud problem is unless folks actually report it. At the moment, official figures show fraud makes up about 40% of all recorded crimes and attempts. I honestly think if all these fraud attempts were reported, the real number would be closer to 99% or more. Maybe then people would start taking notice - MPs included!

If you scroll down a couple of comments, you'll find advice on how to tackle these scams and why just blocking might not be effective. Reporting them honestly doesn’t take more effort than leaving a comment here. It’s unlikely we’ll see quick results, as the police aren’t fully aware of how widespread these scams are or the newest tricks being used. Until everyone who’s on the receiving end of these calls and messages takes the time to report them and complains to their MP, these crooks will just keep getting away with it.

I’ve been getting calls from about six different numbers recently. I started letting unknown numbers go straight to voicemail, but obviously, there’s never been any message left. They just seem to hang up as soon as I don’t pick up.

I received a call from a man of Asian descent using a number based in Manchester who proceeded to address me by my entire name. He claimed to be representing “Advantage” and mentioned a rather odd technical problem. To top it off, he requested if he could ring me back on my own number - quite peculiar, don’t you think?

I received a call from an Asian woman using a Manchester number who addressed me by my full name. She claimed to be representing a company called "Advantage". Then, she mentioned some sort of technical glitch and requested to ring me back on my number. I had a strong inkling that this was a scam even before I picked up the phone. I’m certain my number has now been flagged and will be passed around to other scammers who’ll soon be trying their luck.

Had a call from a woman with an Asian accent who called me by my first name. She claimed there was a problem with my computer or something technical. I just ended the call straight away.

They said they were from HMRC and told me I hadn’t claimed a rebate. They said if I gave them my bank info, they’d send the money right away. I decided to mess with them instead and gave fake details, keeping them on the call for a while. That’s when I figured out they were ringing through the internet and seemed to be based in the Netherlands - though that might just be a trick. Definitely a risky scam to watch out for.

Benefit - Indian chap in a call centre, with a multitude of colleagues chattering away in the background. Total scam alert!

They rang asking for my missus, so I told them I was the hubby. Next thing, they just dropped the call. Smells pretty fishy if you ask me, so I’ve gone ahead and blocked their number on my phone.

A person claiming to represent Compare Your Cover called, asking specifically for my partner by his name and then requested his mobile number. I just ended the call there and made sure to report it to the Telephone Preference Service (TPS).

They called me up, knew my name right away, and said they were looking over my life insurance details. Then they started asking for my insurance info. I told them I already have an agent who handles all that stuff. The person was pretty polite but hung up soon after I said that.

Blimey! Just had a rather dodgy call aimed at my 82-year-old father. Some chancer claimed he was involved in a recent car accident and insisted they urgently needed to chat with him. He went on about being from a so-called Accident Investigation Department named First Response! Just a word of caution-these con artists really employ some pretty heavy-handed tactics! Stay vigilant!

I got a call on my phone from someone saying they were from First Response. They told me they had info about some accident or damage involving my car in the past few years. I told them nothing happened. Then they asked if any of my relatives had been involved in anything like that. I said no again, and asked if this was just a sales call since I’m on the TPS list. Right after that, she just ended the call.

I got one of those dodgy calls today about my internet being cancelled soon. At first it's a robotic message, saying something about disconnection. If you hit 1, you end up speaking to someone real who then tries to get you to download malware. Stay clear!
