Got a call from someone claiming they were with o2, offering to knock 30% off my bill without changing my tariff. When I asked for proof, they sent me a code by text that supposedly came from o2, but the message itself said not to share that code with anyone, even o2 staff. So, I just ended the call lol. The caller wanted me to “verify” who I am but wouldn’t do the same or properly prove they were actually with o2. I also got passed to some supervisor when I challenged them for ID. Definitely not answering that number again.

Big thanks to all who share numbers linked to spam calls, might help you or might not lol - I use the iPhone’s “silence unknown callers” option and it pretty much does exactly what it says. If the number’s not saved in my contacts, it goes straight to voicemail. Not every call is spam, but I just assume if it’s important, the person will drop a message. My BT Premium landline has the same setup too, synced with my iPhone via Bluetooth, holding about a thousand contacts, and it won’t ring for anyone outside that list either!

It’s crazy how they just use slightly different numbers each time. Even if you block one, they ring back from another number that’s still unblocked. The phone companies really ought to put a stop to this, allowing these scammers to use loads of numbers. Honestly, if it carries on, maybe we should take legal action against BT or whoever’s behind the service.

Last night, I received a call at an ungodly hour. I'm based in the States. After I finally woke up, curiosity got the better of me, so I decided to ring the number back. I was met with a recorded message insisting that "your call is very important to us - please hold for an agent." Naturally, I did, but after six long minutes of listening to nothing, the line simply disconnected with a cheery farewell. Quite frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns out to be some sort of dodgy scam.

anyone who dont pick up straight away or takes a bit too long to reply and sounds like they’re on a call centre line gets blocked by me straight away. one time i heard them say hello just as i was about to hang up, didnt wanna give them any chance to speak more. to me, if they delay that long with a call centre voice, it’s got to be a scam.

I believe the lady mentioned it was the 'CNC Claims Department.' However, it clearly seems to be a scam of some sort. I would strongly recommend that this number be deactivated immediately.
