I’m at a car dealership myself, and just got a call from someone claiming to be with an import-export firm. Pretty obvious it was a con.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from EE, saying I'd reported a problem with my phone, which I definitely hadn't. Then they started talking about giving me 40% off for being a loyal customer. I was at work at the time and it just felt dodgy straight away, so I told them I was busy and hung up.

Got a call from someone pretending to be EE saying I could get 40% off my phone bill since I’m a loyal customer. They couldn’t find my email linked to my account and asked for more info, then kept putting me through different “departments”. Felt fishy so told them I’d just pop into my local EE shop instead and they ended the call. They’ve rung me three times over the past week now. Definitely a dodgy scam.

Just got this weird call from O2 asking, "How are you today?" Bit suspicious, especially on a Bank Holiday Monday! Feels like some dodgy scam to me.

Got two calls within 5 minutes, first a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from o2, then a guy with the same accent saying o2 virgin media. They kept asking for my personal details but refused to give me any info about who I was, saying it was confidential! Definitely a scam call.

Some bloke called "John" from some network rang me and asked how I was. I’m not a fan of random strangers doing that, and they usually turn out to be scammers anyway, so I just ended the call. Added him to my scam list now.

Had a woman call me with a thick Indian accent saying she was from O2 and offering a 40% reduction on my bill. She just kept going over the same lines even after I told her no thanks. After the third time saying I wasn’t interested, she said goodbye politely and ended the call. I’ve blocked the number now - it’s clearly a scam. These calls come through about once a week, all with the same “deal,” same kind of accent, and pushy tone, even though I say no right away because it’s obvious it’s not actually O2.

Got a call from this number on my mobile. I said a friendly hello, but they just hung up straight away. Then by accident I hit Call back while checking the digits, and it said the number doesn’t seem to be valid. Sounds fishy to me!

01615490165 rang me claiming to be from O2, offering a 40% reduction on my mobile bill. He said he was based in London and even gave a postcode RG26UU. The funny thing is, his number showed up from Manchester! I told him straight up he’s a scammer and warned him he’s doomed when his time comes, considering how many people he’s hurt with his scams. Managed to kill about 8 minutes of his time at least. Watch out, these lot are total muppets!

+44 161 549 0165 rang me, it was a woman with a thick Indian accent. She claimed she could offer me a 40% discount for my O2 contract. I fibbed and said I’m actually with Vodafone, she then asked why and urged me to switch to O2 with that 40% off. I told her to quit the scam and she just told me to ‘shut up’ before hanging up. Total SCAM.

So my phone, which is with O2, flagged this number as a scam but I still picked up out of curiosity. A woman with a really strong Indian accent was asking about my contract and if I’d think about switching to O2. The line was awful, and it was clear she was just some scammer trying to take advantage.

Got a call claiming to be from O2, watch out! The guy had my landline number (the one he rung me on) and part of my mobile number too. He tried offering me a deal for O2 but I asked if he knew my name and told him I’m not even with O2 🤨. He said “No ma’am” so I asked “Are you a scammer?” He asked “What network are you on?” I said again “Are you a scammer?” and he actually admitted “Yes, I’m a scammer, it’s what I do and I need cash.” So yeah, he confessed he’s definitely a scammer.

Picked up the call and some bloke said he was from 02, wanting to know if my internet on the phone was acting up. I asked him why he said 02 when my phone had flagged the number as likely spam. Next thing, he just dropped the call. Blocked the number straight away. These scammers are so irritating, they really need to realise people aren’t buying their rubbish anymore... they should just find an honest job that actually pays ####

Got a call from someone claiming to be O2, saying I could get half off my plan for 6 to 12 months because I’m a loyal customer who pays promptly. They asked me to put a discount code into a password change link they sent me. Said the code was only good for a few days but insisted I use it immediately. I just hung up straight away.

I got a call from a bloke with a really heavy Indian accent, asking if I was alright. That set off two alarm bells straight away since none of my British Asian mates talk like that, and anyone asking about my health usually seems dodgy to me! He said he was from O2 and looked shocked when I told him I’m not a customer. Oddly enough, he said sorry, wished me a good day, and ended the call. Of course, I looked up the number afterwards and - no surprise - it turned out to be another scam!

Someone rang saying they were from Virgin/02 and that loads of customers had been moaning about the signal, and they could give me a 40% discount. Then she said she’d put me through to her manager. I said sounds good, cut my bill by 40% cheers. Then they just hung up. Pretty obvious scam. They didnt even bother with the usual ID checks.

Oh, it’s those so-called O2 mates again (definitely not pals and I’m definitely not an O2 customer). The other day I made them wait ages on the phone while I was pretending the postie was at the door and then making up a mate to chat with (any time I spend with them is less time spent on their dodgy scams). I’m pretty certain they’ll call again, and next time I’ll have a proper long chat to see if they’re stuck in some call centre against their will, forced to rip us all off.

This number 0161 549 0165 called me saying they were from O2 but never used my name (I'm with O2 myself). The lady on the phone had an Indian accent and something about it seemed off. Normally, O2 messages me through their app, so it felt suspicious.

The guy spoke really fast, saying he was from 02 and had all my info right in front of him. He kept saying the call was being recorded. I told him I’m not with 02 but he just kept going on about some promotion and how I’d been chosen for a reward. I kept telling him he was a scammer and I’d call the police. Suddenly he got a bit nervous, started chuckling, and said don’t worry, he wasn’t a scammer. I ended the call by calling him a scammer in English, then told him to stop calling my number and told him to shut up in my own language. He was still laughing and then I hung up.

They claimed to be from Virgin/O2 but never bothered to check if I was actually a customer or even the account owner. Then they started talking about some "upgraded service" but only if I shared my email. If I was really with them, they'd already have that info. I never hand over my email or any personal details to people calling out of the blue.
