On 15/11/2021 around 6pm, I got a call from a woman with a strong Asian accent who sounded really professional. I thought it was legit because I had recently sent in a marriage tax form, so I wasn’t suspicious at first. Stupidly, I gave her both mine and my partner’s NI numbers. They called back again about 50 minutes later. So, even if you’ve applied for a tax relief, don’t give out any details on calls or emails. Ask them to send you something official on headed paper with a proper signature. Just ’cause they sound legit doesn’t mean they are. So heads up, be careful!

Got calls today, 9th Nov, from 0161 541 2395, once at 4.49pm and again at 5.19pm. A bloke named Mark answered, with what sounded like an Indian accent. The number’s local to Manchester and claimed to be from some office sorting Marriage Allowance Tax stuff. He asked for my wife’s and my National Insurance numbers - which I already put on the claim form myself, so it felt dodgy to me. I reckon this guy ain’t exactly honest, probably a scammer. Felt like harassment and quite risky.

Got a call from this number about marriage tax allowance. They asked for my husband and even used my name. The lady claimed my husband had made an enquiry.
