SCAM ALERT. A guy called, only wanted my first name, said he was from PPI. Then he asked for my dob and address for "security" which I didn’t give him. I told him to send info by post if I was entitled to anything, but he insisted they only send cheques. I kept chatting with him for a while, had a laugh asking loads of questions and could tell he was getting uncomfortable.

After a brief while, I thought better of it and rang back to cancel. The number is indeed operational, and I requested the chap on the line to annul the claim for me. However, his replies were rather sluggish, so I reckon I’ll give them another bell later on.

Update - I reached out to Phillipson Hardwick advisory, the outfit associated with this number. Had a natter with the young lady who picked up. Everything appeared above board, and they didn’t inquire about any bank details. The 0161 532 9340 number is also connected. I’m not suggesting anything shady is afoot, but it’s wise to exercise a bit of caution.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with the claims team in South Africa. Said HMRC was about to send me a tax refund linked to my PPI payment. I told them I never got any money. Then they asked for my postcode, I said no and ended the call. Blocked the number after that. Definitely sounds like a scam.

Just like a lot of others have said, this caller said they were from Claims Guys and mentioned some old PPI payout I supposedly got before and that I was owed more money. Problem is, ive never actually had any PPI payment. They kept asking me to confirm loads of private details so I just ended the call and blocked the number.

I've experienced a similar situation as well. They claimed to represent an organisation handling claims and insisted I click on a link to input my National Insurance number for HMRC. I wisely refrained from opening that link. What’s more concerning is they seemed to have all my dad's details-his phone number, postcode, and email. Quite alarming, isn’t it?

I got a call from a bloke claiming to be with the Claims Guys about a PPI claim I supposedly made years ago. He sounded Indian, and I could even hear other Indian voices in the background. He told me I was owed more money and said he would post me a cheque. When he asked for my address, I declined. What worried me most was that he already had my full name, DoB, and address. Then he sent me a text pushing me to click a link - I said I’d do it later, but he kept asking what time and if I’d do it today. I ended up just hanging up.

I usually dont pick up calls from unknown numbers unless they’re on my contacts, so if they’re genuine they can always leave a voicemail! I looked up this number here and it looks like a scam. Big thanks to this website. The folks who waste their time scamming others really should be caught and punished. They’re just freeloaders.

I’ve made it abundantly clear, on four separate instances, that I have zero interest in their services and requested they cease these calls. Despite my attempts to communicate my disinterest, they still persist in bothering me-it's rather irritating, to say the least!

Got a call from an Asian guy claiming to be from HMRC about tax overpayment. He wanted my address so I told him to give me three addresses, including mine, and I’d say which one was right. He refused. Then he asked for my date of birth, so I did the same trick and gave three dates, one being mine, saying I’d confirm the correct one. He just ended the call! 😄

I've received a telephone call from this number, purporting to be from the Claim Guys, a service I’ve previously used. Strangely enough, they were aware of my email and postcode details. I received a rather dubious cold call from some folks calling themselves Claim Guys. I've dealt with them in the past, so they caught my attention, but what they said was quite peculiar.
