Got a call from someone named 'Jack' claiming I could claim £4000 for PPI. I told him that sounded daft and ended the call straight away. Then he rang me back right away, and I just hung up again. On the third time he called, I warned him I’d report it to the Police if he rang once more. Thankfully, no more calls after that. Pretty clear it was a scam.

I've encountered this number on several occasions, and on a couple of instances, I actually picked up the call. However, there was no one on the line, and they simply disconnected. They rang me on the 23rd of March at 12:38 in the afternoon and then again twice the following day-once at 12:38 pm and again at 1:20 pm. Quite strange, really!

Got a call from someone called "PPI Payback" saying I had £4000 owed to me. Then, just as I was starting to listen properly, the line got all crackly and cut off. Pretty sure they’re hoping I ring back so they can try their dodgy tricks again. Total scam if you ask me.

Got a ring from this number claiming there was a PIP refund of £4,900, and the lady said Barclays Bank was the lender. Problem is, I haven’t had a mortgage since way back in 1985. The call then just ended abruptly, but moments later the same woman called again, switching tactics and asking me for my bank info. I told her to email me all the loan details instead - then the line just went dead.

I had no clue what this guy was on about, he was talking super quick and with some weird accent or something. I told him to speak slower but that made no difference. Eventually, I told him to just stop calling me. He threw out some figure around £4,999 or something, but honestly I couldn’t get what he was saying properly. Seems like he wanted my bank info or something dodgy like that.

Got a call off some bloke called 'David' claiming to be from Nationwide. Said he had a cheque for £4,000 to pay back PPI to me. He seemed to know loads about me, but then wanted my date of birth. Didn’t even ask for my bank info. Definitely felt fishy to me - total scam!

I got a call from someone who knew my real name and said they were from PPI International. They told me they’d send a cheque for about £4,000 but the address they had was wrong. They asked for my correct address, date of birth, and the bank or building society that gave me the loan the PPI was about. Later that day, some dodgy texts came through, and then another call from a guy called 'John Cooper' with a thick subcontinental accent, saying he had a cheque for me to settle my PPI claim. The number he called from was 01460 220708.

Got a call from a guy who said his name was John, sounded foreign. He claimed some Financial Ombudsman had settled my PPI for a mortgage or loan I cleared ages ago, and that a cheque for £4000 was on its way to me. He already knew where I lived but asked for my birth date, wouldn't say why when I questioned him. Hard to understand what he was saying properly. I told him he was talking rubbish and called him out on the scam - he might've muttered a swear in his own language! I've blocked the number now, but I’m sure they'll ring again from a slightly different one. Such a nuisance.

I said hello but got no reply, so I tried again with the same silence. After waiting a bit, they just cut the call. When I rang the number back, it said "this service cannot be connected." Definitely seems like a scam to me.

Got a call from someone saying they were with the official PPI claims dept, telling me a cheque was coming soon for a big sum. Then, between those calls, they rang up again trying to tempt me with extra money if I accepted Amazon gift cards. Totally a dodgy scam, watch out!

So I got a call saying my lender accepted my PPI claim and now I need to do security checks to get the payment sorted. Thing is, I’ve never even filed a PPI claim, so it’s obviously a scam. I just ended the call straight away.
