Sounds like a total scam to me. I've seen this number before linked to tax refund schemes. When I got a call today, it was supposedly Vodafone. The bloke was pretty rude, kept yelling “Hello” like three or four times even though I picked up right away. Then he called me “Sir” which is odd since I’m definitely a woman. If he was really from Vodafone, he’d surely know my correct title.

I made it clear that I had no interest in their spiel, but they got rather insistent. I suggested they send me the information via traditional post so I could mull it over, but it seems they were incapable of doing that! They mentioned they'd ring me again, but I promptly blocked their number.

Received a call purporting to be from ACCS, allegedly based in South Africa. They claimed it was regarding my PPI reimbursement and requested my address for verification purposes. I provided a fictitious address, and surprisingly they mentioned that a cheque would arrive shortly. In the midst of our conversation, I could hear a mechanical voice in the background counting down the final seconds of the call, after which the recording abruptly terminated. When I raised my concerns with a supervisor about why I wasn’t informed the call was being recorded, he simply stated that the agent likely hadn’t reached that part of the script yet. Without a doubt, this reeks of a scam operation, likely fishing for information to peddle my details elsewhere.

I received a call similar to what others have mentioned regarding PPI claims. The caller knew my email address and claimed he needed to confirm some details. Not feeling at ease with that, I suggested he should just send everything to my email, allowing me to verify things myself. He insisted that the call was being recorded and came across as rather insistent. When I probed about him mentioning they were a "registered BPO," he seemed taken aback and couldn’t recall what BPO stood for! In the end, I terminated the call.

I received a call from individuals purporting to represent a company that supposedly retrieves tax refunds from HMRC, linked to a past PPI claim of mine. They were quite insistent on obtaining my personal information and when I hesitated, their tone turned rather confrontational. What unsettled me most was how they already knew my name, alongside other folks mentioning that these scammers had access to their birth dates and more. It’s all rather suspect, wouldn’t you agree? I’d advise hanging up immediately and ensuring you block their number.
