Sounds like a total scam to me. I've seen this number before linked to tax refund schemes. When I got a call today, it was supposedly Vodafone. The bloke was pretty rude, kept yelling “Hello” like three or four times even though I picked up right away. Then he called me “Sir” which is odd since I’m definitely a woman. If he was really from Vodafone, he’d surely know my correct title.

Got a call from someone saying they were with ACCS in South Africa about my PPI refund. When they asked for my address for "security reasons," I gave them a fake one. Then they told me I'd get a cheque within a few days. Suddenly, I heard a robotic voice counting down 10 seconds before the call cut off. I asked to speak to a supervisor about why they hadn’t informed me the call was being recorded, and he said the agent probably hadn’t reached that part yet. Definitely a scam, looks like they’re just checking info to trade personal data.

I got a call just like others have mentioned about some PPI claim. The guy rattled off my own email address and wanted to check my details with me. I said I wasn’t happy giving info over the phone and suggested he email me anything he needed so I could check it properly. He kept saying the call was recorded and was really insistent. He claimed they were a "registered BPO," but when I asked what exactly a BPO was, he had no clue. Ended up just hanging up.

I got a call from someone saying they worked for a firm that helps reclaim tax from HMRC linked to an old PPI claim. They wanted loads of my personal info, and when I didn’t give it, they started getting quite pushy and rude. They already had my name, and I’ve seen other people say these lot even have DOB and other personal bits. It’s obvious they’re scammers. Just hang up and block the number straight away.
