He said he was with some company about loft insulation. I hung up straight away and blocked the number.

I actually had to ask if he could hear me before he finally paused. Once he stopped, I told him again that I didn’t want anything to do with it. Seems like a total nuisance - felt a bit like a scam or some pushy sales tactic to me.

Whenever my iPhone rings from a number I don’t recognise, I just have it set to mute those calls straight away. Then later, I pop onto this site to see who was trying to get hold of me. If it’s the landline and someone asks for me by name, I usually pretend to be the cleaner and tell them Mrs C isn’t around! Other times, I’ll just start talking in Spanish for a bit - that usually confuses them a fair bit!
