Had a call from some firm saying they were with The Claims Guys about a case I supposedly filed back in May 2021. They kept pushing, wouldn't let me get a word in and were quite rude. Honestly, steer clear and block these lot.

I got a call claiming to be from HMRC, saying I'd be arrested over unpaid taxes. I told the bloke on the line it was clearly a scam and then ended the call, but they kept ringing me back anyway. So far, I've had about five calls from the same number. Since then, I've learnt to spot the number and just ignore it. I tried blocking it on my phone, but it says the number's invalid and won't let me block it. Really frustrating!

This number rang me with a woman speaking with an Indian accent, saying she was from a firm working on tax claims linked to PPI for some company called The Claims Guys. She insisted I needed to complete a security check to receive my tax refund cheque. I told her I’d never heard of The Claims Guys or anything related to it. She kept pushing, saying she had my NI number already and couldn’t discuss anything without security clearance. I expressed doubt, mentioning I was in touch with trading standards. When I asked her to provide my NI number first, she refused unless I passed the security step. Then the call just dropped.

Got called by this number earlier, and the person on the other end just cut off as soon as I picked up. I rang back three times, but each time it disconnected before anyone got to the phone. No clue who it could be, but they've been calling me a few times over the last few days. I got a call from someone claiming it was about my PPI claim with Halifax and that I might be due more money. He asked for the first line of my address and my postcode. When I asked what exactly the call was regarding, he didn’t give a straight answer and sounded a bit impatient. I couldn’t quite catch the name of the company he said he was with either. It all felt a bit off to me.

This was definitely a total scam. There was loads of noise in the background and the call quality was shockingly bad. They somehow knew all my info which freaked me out a bit. I didn’t say a word to them. They asked me to provide an email, but never actually sent anything afterwards.

Yesterday I got a phone call from someone saying they worked with HMRC on PPI tax claims, supposedly passed on from a proper PPI claim firm I’d dealt with before. They wanted my info but I refused to give anything and asked them to email me instead. Of course, no email turned up. Then today, they rang again, I repeated myself, and out of nowhere I heard "do you think this is a scam?" with loads of noise in the background... then the call just cut off.

I never pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise. I looked up the number and turns out it’s a scam. They were pretending to be Amazon and talking about some gaming stuff. I've blocked them now for good.

So, a number rang me yesterday from someone saying they worked with HMRC about a PPI tax claim that had supposedly been handed to them by a proper PPI company. They said they had my info, but I refused to give out any personal details and asked them to send me an email instead. Nothing arrived. Then today, the same number called again and I told them just the same thing. Outta nowhere, I hear loads of background noise and them asking, "You don’t reckon this is a scam, do you?" - then the line just cut off. Proper dodgy if you ask me.
