So, I got a call claiming to be from some Domestic Care Appliance Insurance. They clearly had my details, like my name and phone number, and even knew I used to have insurance for an appliance ages ago. I just got a call from this number about some insurance for my belongings, including my cooker. When I told him that my cooker isn’t covered, he casually reassured me, saying no problem at all! Then he quoted me £154 for insuring all my appliances. I promptly hung up since I already have coverage with Domestic and General. What really sent shivers down my spine was how he had my address! Quite concerning, to say the least!

I got a call from someone who said his name was Jadon and he was with domestic & general. He claimed I could get a discount on my home appliances because I hadn’t made any claims in the past year. He told me my cooker, washing machine and fridge/freezer warranties were about to run out, and offered to bundle them into one new warranty that would save me around 50%. Thing is, I don’t even have a fridge/freezer, and the other two appliances were bought recently, so it was clearly a dodgy call.

Got a call saying they were from Domestic General Insurance about my policy running out on some kitchen stuff. They told me because I hadn’t made any claims this year, I’d get a 35% discount next year. When I said I didn’t even have a policy, they tried pushing the insurance hard, using scare stories about repair prices and how Covid's made everything cost more. The place in the background sounded like a busy call centre, really loud. I told them I wasn’t interested and ended the call. Oddly, my number’s meant to be unlisted.
