I received a phone call from a man who certainly wasn’t shy, claiming to be from the government. Interestingly, my 91-year-old mum greeted him with a jovial ‘Happy New Year’ and affectionately called him ‘darling’. To our amusement, he promptly advised her against using that term! A bit of drama unfolded as she can’t recall who ended the conversation first. I've attempted to ring the number several times, but it appears to be switched off. Quite the mystery, I must say!
