Phone number ☎️ 01615314997 👆 is reported as a persistent source of scam calls from individuals falsely claiming to represent UK mobile providers such as EE, O2, Virgin, and Currys PC World. Callers often use strong Asian accents and employ tactics like offering discounts or bill reductions to solicit personal information, including security codes sent by legitimate networks. Many users have experienced multiple calls, hang-ups, or silence, indicating attempts to verify active numbers or provoke responses. Reports highlight frustration over repeated harassment, spoofed Manchester-based numbers linked to call centres in India, and calls aiming to access accounts fraudulently. It is strongly advised to avoid engaging, not share any personal details or codes, block the number, and report it to relevant authorities to help curb this widespread and persistent fraud.

Hello there, I'm Max Thorpe Downey! I've recently found myself on the receiving end of a rather unpleasant blackmail attempt. Fortunately, it didn’t work out for those involved, but now they’ve resorted to tarnishing my reputation online with false claims. I’ve reached out to law enforcement about this matter, yet, unfortunately, they’ve determined there isn't sufficient proof to pursue the case, so it’s been dismissed. The individuals behind this are nothing but despicable charlatans, preying on innocent folks and trying to make a quick buck through deceit and intimidation!

I received a call from someone claiming to be from 02, promising a 40% discount on my next bill. When I asked the purpose of the call, he stated it was to provide me with the discount. I urged him to go ahead and apply the discount, but he insisted on speaking further before doing so. I informed him that we were already talking and requested him to proceed with the discount. When I inquired about the exact amount of my new bill, he failed to give a precise answer. I engaged him in conversation for a while, but eventually became bored and ended the call. It's frustrating how these scam calls persist uncontrollably. It's high time that both our service providers and authorities take necessary action against them. Blocking numbers is ineffective as they constantly call from different ones. This situation erodes our trust in any incoming calls and someone may potentially miss important calls as a result.

At first glance, it seemed there was another individual from Asia trying to imitate a British accent and claiming to be from Manchester. However, their accent revealed more of a Mumbai influence than a genuine Manchester one. I politely asked them to end the call and they promptly disconnected. These deceitful scammers deserve significant consequences for their actions; perhaps 20 minutes behind bars won't be enough to deter them.

Privacy invasion is a grave concern these days. Persistent harassment, such as daily calls even though one does not answer or blocks the calls, is infuriating. It's even more frustrating when they continue to call from different numbers. These individuals, who are clearly up to no good, must be located and brought to justice.

Just got a call claiming to be from EE saying they can lower my contract fees... but EE’s never really been one to make phone calls like that before.

Got calls from 4 different numbers in like 3 minutes, seems like some kinda big scam going on. I never answer unknown calls anyway but this was totally dodgy.

Got a call earlier today 9/10/2023, but no message left, so I looked up the number here. Pretty relieved I didn’t pick up!

I received a call today from a scammer who was posing as a representative from my network provider. The implausible claims made by the caller were in clear violation of the law. Conveying an air of credibility aided their deceitful intentions, creating a sense of urgency in the conversation. To protect others from falling victim to this scam, it is important to remain vigilant and ascertain the legitimacy of any unsolicited calls supposedly originating from our network providers.

Watch out for scammers pretending to be O2. I was recently approached by one who claimed to offer me a generous 40% discount; however, they attempted to extract my credit card details. This is a clear indication of fraudulent activity and should be treated as a warning sign.

I didn’t answer the phone but when I looked up the number using a reverse search, I found out it’s a VOIP number (Voice over Internet Protocol). These numbers are made online from any part of the world and are often used by scam call centres, especially ones based in India, pretending to be calling from the UK.

Similar to previous incidents, it was claimed that the call was from someone representing O2 who offered a cost-effective phone upgrade. Appreciating the feedback provided, I promptly decided to block the caller's number.
