A persistent nuisance on the other end of the line.

I received a phone call the other day from someone claiming to be from O2. The caller was a lady with a Pakistani accent, and she was trying to entice me with an offer for a reduction on my monthly payment. I can’t shake the feeling that it’s a scam!

Got a call asking if I was satisfied with O2. I don’t actually use O2, so I told them. Felt like it might be a dodgy call to me.

Some bloke said he was ringing from Three network, but I wasn’t having it. I told him his number must be one of those 033 ones or whatever. Then he cheekily asked if I could give him Three’s real number! Definitely dodgy, a proper scam that one.

Had a call coming through but thought it might be dodgy, so I just let it ring out without picking up.

Got a call from someone saying they were from O2, offering me a 30% discount on my bill. As soon as they mentioned sending me a verification code by text, I knew it was dodgy. Seriously, don’t engage with these types.

I got a call from a number I didn’t recognise but there was no voicemail left. I usually just block any unknown numbers if they don’t bother to leave a message.

I got a call from someone saying they were from Vodafone, warning me I'd be disconnected if I didn't pay up. Tried to post what I said back but it wouldn’t go through, then they just dropped the call.

Today was the day my SIM was supposed to switch from Virgin to O2, and I got a call claiming they could give me a discount on my plan. But just a few minutes earlier, I'd gotten a text with a code I never asked for, which made me really suspicious. Felt fishy, so I didn’t go any further with the call. Honestly, this seems like a dodgy scam trying to catch folks when they’re most vulnerable.

If I don’t recognise the number or see it in my contacts, I just won’t pick up. Unknown callers? Nah, not for me.

Got a call from this number, picked up and the line went dead straight away. I looked it up here, turns out almost always scammers - so I've blocked it now. But I enjoy answering and when they say their “name” (like Edward or Rory or something), I chat back asking when I’ll be getting the refund they promised me. They usually hang up pretty sharpish and often you won’t hear from them again :) It’s clear they don’t want to stick around if they’ve already taken money off you!

Got a missed call earlier, but no message was left on my answerphone. Honestly, I have no clue who it was, probably just another spam call.

I got a random call from someone with a thick accent, sounded foreign and was hard to make out. She claimed she wanted to see if I was happy with my O2 service. I told her I don’t chat to unknown callers and just ended the call. Later, I looked the number up on Who Called Me to see if it was legit.

Honestly, I just tell them to find an actual job instead of bothering me, what pests!

They called me but I didn’t pick up since the number isn’t listed anywhere. Seems dodgy to me, especially noticing it’s been searched on this site about 10 times. Probably a scam.

Earlier today I got a call from a number claiming to be EE, saying I was up for an upgrade. I had a bad feeling straight away though. When I picked up and said hello, the woman on the other end just kept saying hello back without getting to the point. After a few times, I just asked what she wanted since she was the one calling. She kept going on about EE, but I told her I knew it was a scam and asked her to leave me alone, then I ended the call. I blocked the number right away and decided to look it up here to be sure - turns out I was right to trust my instincts.

I got a call from this number claiming to be O2, offering a 40% discount. The woman on the line was pretty pushy, even telling me "Just listen up now!" which I didn’t appreciate at all. I told her not to talk to me that way. Right as this was happening, I got a text from O2 warning me the call might be a scam. She then tried to give me a number to call back, but I said I already have O2’s official number and would stick to that instead.

When I asked why o2 was ringing me, they just dropped the call. Definitely a scam.

I suspect it's a classic "one-ring" con. They let it ring just once before severing the call, likely hoping the person will ring back, racking up a hefty bill for the unsuspecting victim. Quite the dodgy tactic, if you ask me!

They pretended to ring from O2 and then went on about Virgin Media. Quite odd, if you ask me!

Best to avoid returning that call. They’ll likely rack up costs.

Received a call earlier today from someone purporting to be from EE, trying to entice me into a deal for the iPhone 15 at £45 per month since I’m currently on a SIM-only arrangement. When I inquired about the specifics of my existing device and the number of gadgets linked to my account, they abruptly cut the line. What a blatant scam!
