Now I just ignore it since you never know if you get charged for answering. Feels like a total scam to me, best not to answer at all. Wimbledon Guild of Social Workers/Need More Time. They pretend to be a debt management firm (I’m employed and barely in debt) or sometimes claim to be from the DWP. They share the same board members as Comsave Credit Union. Been getting annoying calls and silent rings since 26/08/19 and 11/08/20. One social worker was struck off from 11/08/20, the other had conditions slapped on their practice from 29/08/19, and both have lost repeatedly at Social Work England Tribunals since then. The 28 day period to appeal after the last hearing on 06/04/21 just ended.

They start telling you about debts, loans, and money you supposedly owe, which makes you wonder how on earth they know your personal stuff like your bank details and birth date. So no, don’t feel obliged to answer numbers you don’t recognise. The weirdest part? I got a text the same moment as the call, saying something about my phone’s NFC being scanned multiple times. Most of us keep our banking apps on our phones, right? Keep all this in mind next time one of these calls comes through. Oh, and they'll often ring back from a very close number too.

Nah mate, you won’t get any proper info from them. They rang me from another number shortly after and when I picked up, there was silence but you could tell it was some call centre messing about. I never asked for their calls, it’s my privacy after all, not some job interview. Bet next thing you know, your phone’s been hacked or something. This number has been calling me repeatedly throughout the day and no one's said a word whenever I pick up. I got a bit wary because these calls started right after I was almost caught up in an HMRC tax scam. Since I didn’t get tricked, these calls began. this was a total scam about some debt help. they told me i owed money and tried to get me in some debt plan. the cash i gave them never went to who i owed, it just went straight into some fat cats pocket. dont get involved with any debt plans like this and never share your bank or card info, they’ll clean you out. also they make sure you cant call them back.

Just got a call similar to yours, and as usual, I had a bit of a laugh with it. I told them they’ve got the wrong person, gave them a fake name - called myself Muhammed Mike. The bloke claimed he was John Smith, classic move. He tried telling me I've got debts of about £200 a month, so I asked if that was right. Then he wanted to know what debts exactly. I replied that I owe some dosh to his missus and also to his mum - just making nonsense up really. Complete tossers, honestly.
