Now I just ignore it since you never know if you get charged for answering. Feels like a total scam to me, best not to answer at all. Wimbledon Guild of Social Workers/Need More Time. They pretend to be a debt management firm (I’m employed and barely in debt) or sometimes claim to be from the DWP. They share the same board members as Comsave Credit Union. Been getting annoying calls and silent rings since 26/08/19 and 11/08/20. One social worker was struck off from 11/08/20, the other had conditions slapped on their practice from 29/08/19, and both have lost repeatedly at Social Work England Tribunals since then. The 28 day period to appeal after the last hearing on 06/04/21 just ended.

On top of that, I received a text simultaneously, warning me that my phone’s NFC was being repeatedly scanned or something of that nature. Many of us have our bank apps on our mobiles, which is something to think about when you receive such alarming calls. And don’t be surprised if they ring you again from a different number!

Eventually, I managed to connect with someone, and he immediately dives into a spiel about debts. He went ahead and recited my full name and address without even confirming it was me first - that's a blatant violation of GDPR regulations! He claimed I owed over £3,000, which is absolutely false. He introduced himself as part of the government's debt advice service. I told him flat out that if he's genuinely affiliated with the government, he ought to be well-versed in their own guidelines, considering he just breached GDPR, which could land his company in serious trouble. To top it off, he just ended the call. Clearly, this is nothing but a scam!

I received a staggering 13 calls today, all from some chaps insisting that I owe them money on a loan. I made it quite clear that I have no such loans, and even mentioned that I might have to involve the police due to their incessant harassment. I said, "Absolutely not, I go by the name of Muhammed Mike," whilst he introduced himself as John Smith, classic scammer move! He was babbling on about how I supposedly fork out around £200 a month for debts. I just played coy and said, "Really? Do I now?"
