Got a call from 01165290078 the other day. I could tell right away it was dodgy. Spoke to a woman with an Indian accent, told her I knew it was a scam. She threatened to keep calling me. Since then, I've had about 10 automated scam calls on my mobile. I've blocked each number, but I expect they'll just keep ringing. I don’t pick up anymore. Something really needs to be done about these people - they should be found and locked up with huge fines. They’re just greedy, brainless crooks who are a waste of space. Truly sad and pathetic criminals.

This guy said his name was ‘Nicoh’ and claimed to be calling from some UK Financial Advice Bureau or something. He told me I could possibly get a payout from HMRC if I answered some questions about my personal life, like if I’m married or employed. Instead of playing along, I bombarded him with questions about his organisation. After a while, he just cut me off and ended the call!

They started off by getting my name completely wrong, so I asked who was calling. They said it was some company called “Araura,” then suddenly mentioned HMRC and a refund. I told the woman that if they really had info from HMRC, they’d have the right surname for me. She then started shouting over me, so I just ended the call. A few hours later, the same number rang again but I didn’t answer. Whatever the call was about, real or scam, they shouldn’t be throwing out words like HMRC or refunds - it’s just to confuse people and freak them out into talking.
