Received a rather distressing call today from this number. The individual was extremely aggressive and refused to end the conversation until I resorted to using some rather stern language. It’s becoming a daily nuisance, with them ringing me up twice a day, and occasionally, they don’t even show their number. Quite frankly, it’s driving me up the wall!

So I got a call from 0161 528 3541, looks like it's based in Manchester. It said it was HMRC but felt dodgy straight away. I actually pressed 1 just to check what would happen next, and the bloke on the line called me ‘sweetie’! Has anyone else ever had a supposed HMRC rep call you that? Definitely blocked them.

I got a robo call saying there was a warrant out for me, so I pressed 1 to talk to the "case officer." He wouldn’t give his name but said I owed £3,998 in taxes. The line was really bad, so I asked him to ring me later, but he said I should call him back instead. I told him to carry on. Then he claimed I needed to pay HMRC £19,000 to sort things out. He was really pushy about it. When he asked me to verify my address, I said no because I was sure it was a scam. He then said he’d check my file and get back to me. I’m just blocking all their numbers now.

i was pretty annoyed when i realised it was one of them automated messages. normally, when i get a cold call i like to pick up and shout down the phone as loud as i can, then hang up after a bit, which usually scares them off. but this time they left a voicemail saying i was about to get arrested or something. i didn't even bother listening to the whole thing and just deleted it straight away so they wouldn’t bother me anymore.

They demanded a payment of £3090. Absolutely, had a dodgy caller from HMRC trying to reach me, rang twice in quick succession! They even attempted to contact me on a mobile beginning with 07415, the kind that’s typically associated with EE. I've since blocked all their numbers. Just a heads-up: HMRC won't ring you out of the blue; any legitimate correspondence comes through the post, never via phone. Stay vigilant!
