I get the impression that the chap was ringing from some kind of call centre, probably based in India. It felt as though he was sticking to a script, with lengthy pauses thrown in every now and then. He even feigned that he was representing Curry's PC World.

Answerd the phone thinkin I was gona get an important call but there was a pause, then some bloke from what sounded like an Indian call centre came on. He said he was ringing from Curry’s PC World. I’ve no clue why they’d be callin me so I told him I wasn’t interested and ended the call.

Sounds like a scammer with an Indian accent. Best thing to do is block the number and maybe let the police know. These bank scammers are just a pain, honestly.
