I've had to start sending all calls from numbers I don’t recognise straight to voicemail because the spam calls have been out of control recently. Most of them seem to come from dodgy call centres pushing diesel emissions compensation claims. It’s well known now that Twilio hasn’t done much to block these firms from using their platform to fake UK landline numbers and make these annoying calls. This particular call came from a Twilio-registered number I didn’t know, so it’s definitely just another nuisance call.

While I was behind the wheel, this number rang me up. It showed up as potential spam. When I tried calling it back, the phone cut off straightaway. That seemed really dodgy to me. I’m pretty sure it’s not someone legit. My guess is that a scammer is using that number. So, I’ve gone ahead and blocked it.

Got a call from Twilio, definitely a scam. Blocked it straight away but I bet they’ll ring back from a different number soon enough.
