They claimed to be from HSBC, discussing some dodgy dealings linked to my account. They had my name and postcode, which made it all the more believable. However, I found the whole thing rather fishy and chose to hang up rather than continue the conversation.

Received a rather unexpected phone call out of the blue.

I turned down the caller, but they were persistent, ringing me four times in a row. Then, to my annoyance, I received a fifth call from the number 0161 524 6716. Curiosity got the better of me, so I rang it back, only to be greeted by a robotic American voice thanking me for getting in touch with Smart Compare. A quick search revealed that while the business is indeed registered at Companies House, I can't shake the feeling it’s all a con. I've since added both numbers to my block list, just to be safe!

Received a call earlier today (28th March 2023). When I picked up, there was silence on the other end, and they promptly hung up. Seems likely it’s some sort of scam, considering I rarely get calls from Manchester. I'll just go ahead and block the number.

I've had a rather unpleasant call from someone hurling all sorts of profanities at me, claiming they were phoning from Lucifer himself. Their grasp of English was quite poor, to say the least.
