I received a call on my mobile, but I didn’t pick up because the number was unfamiliar. They didn’t leave any voicemail, so I’ve just gone ahead and blocked the number now.

It seems these callers claim to glean your details from some sort of 'database', reaching out under the pretext of discussing tenant upkeep. However, I can confidently say I've never occupied a council property, and when I asked for clarification regarding the origin of their information, they outright refused to enlighten me. Clearly, there’s been a mix-up somewhere along the line. If you’re contacting me on behalf of an establishment that has never had my information, it’s evident that you haven’t sourced it from them at all, and the true motive behind your call remains questionable. At one point, the caller even insinuated I thought they were trying to pull a fast one! My advice? Steer clear of these folks, or if you're feeling cheeky, waste their time as I did!
