Got a text from 01615243831 claiming to be O2, but it was a total fake! Weird thing is, the message showed up in the legit O2 UK thread, so it nearly had me fooled. Watch out for this one!

So I missed a call from 0161 524 3831, but just before that, I randomly got an O2 code I never asked for. Honestly, feels like scammers are testing the waters and reading what people say about this number. Bit suspicious if you ask me!

Got a heads up from O2 about a scam likely heading my way, said to look out for an OTP message. Just went ahead and blocked it straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from a motor accident claims firm, but their heavy Indian accent was hard to understand. When I asked questions, they said it was because of GDPR and couldn’t give me any answers. Felt really dodgy to me.

I got a call from 01615243831 but didn’t pick up since I didn’t know the number. Tried ringing it back but couldn’t get through. Feels like it was probably some sort of scam.

I got a call from a bloke speaking with a really strong South Asian accent. First, he rang me from 01208 247182, which is somewhere near Bodmin. He said “hello madam” but then the call cut off straight away. Then, he called me right back, this time from 0161 524 3831, a Manchester number, said hello again and asked how I was doing. I wasn’t having it so I just ignored him and blocked both numbers.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent, saying she was from O2 and could cut my bill in half. The first call was from a London number, 02045996783, so I just hung up. But then they rang me right back from another number, 01615243831, this time Manchester. They said they’d sent me a code and wanted me to tell them what it was. Seems dodgy to me, definitely looks like a scam.

Got called by someone with a strong Indian accent from an 01208 area code and then a Manchester number popped up. She claimed I was a loyal customer and offered a discount till my contract ends. Then she asked to send an OTP to my mobile. Definitely felt like a scam!

This wasn’t O2 at all. I missed the call but strange thing was I got a security code text on my phone just before. Definitely don’t pick up if you see it, best to report it to O2’s fraud department.

I got a call from someone pretending to be O2, claiming they’d cut my monthly bill in half because of loads of complaints or something like that. They asked to send a one-time password to my phone, but then I got a genuine alert from O2 telling me it was a scam and to not give out any OTPs. So I just ended the call, and they kept ringing me back about ten times, but I didn’t answer.

SCAM - This person said they were from my phone company and tried to get a code sent to my mobile to steal my number. Completely dodgy!

I received a call that purported to be from O2, yet when I inquired further, they couldn’t even tell me my own name! They insisted that I provide them with a code that O2 was supposedly going to send me. This isn’t just happening to me; a couple of my mates have experienced the same thing, and the fallout has been grim - personal information compromised, accounts ransacked, and even phones cloned. It’s quite worrying and definitely feels like a dodgy scam to me!

They've rung me a few times, but whenever I try calling back, they just drop the call. No idea what's going on with that.

Got three calls one after the other from different numbers, but the accent sounded pretty much the same, kind of Indian. I just hung up the phone while the guy was still chatting away.

Everytime I pick up when this number rings, there's just silence on the other end. It's pretty annoying.
