I had a rather peculiar phone call the other day. A woman, and I use the term loosely, introduced herself as Rachel, speaking with a thick London accent. She was reciting a spiel from what sounded like a prepared statement, claiming to be from an insulation firm and reaching out to homeowners regarding some government grants available. I thought it best to chime in and inform her that I’m not a homeowner, but a tenant. However, my polite interjections fell on deaf ears as she ploughed on with her delivery. I attempted to interject again, saying, "Excuse me, could I just..." but was met with an abrupt, "No! F*ck off!" before she abruptly ended the call. It felt rather as though she wasn't quite ready to wrap up her rehearsed script with anyone. Quite the experience!
