I picked up the call but was met with nothing but silence, and before I knew it, they had ended the conversation abruptly.

Definitely not a local call from Manchester, and certainly not from O2 either. Turned out it was rerouted from India. Absolute nonsense! They actually had the cheek to tell me to "get lost" in the end! 😄
