Got calls from nearly the same number, just one or two digits off. It’s run through Twillo, a firm based in Dublin, I reckon, since loads of these scam calls seem to target folks in England. Tried getting Twillo to take action by reporting these numbers, but they really don’t seem bothered. And the UK government? Honestly, they seem too weak to take on the people behind these scams.

Got one of those insulation scam calls today. I asked who was on the line, but the person just jumped straight into their pitch without saying who they were. I just let the phone ring out and got on with shaving! On one hand, this might bump up their old-fashioned phone bill a bit, and it gives any tracers - if they even try - a chance to track the call’s origin. I’m curious if switching off analogue phones by 2025 and moving fully to SIP will help block these fake caller ID tricks?
