Got a call from someone named "Jo" saying my loft insulation was causing issues and that I could get a free check-up for loft lagging. The call cut off suddenly, but then "Jo" rang back right away. I got a call from a woman trying to sell me insulation stuff. She went on about how the British Lung Foundation supposedly said rockwool causes cancer, but I checked their site and there’s nothing about rockwool at all. Feels like a total scam to me. If you get calls like this, best just to put the phone down. They're just trying to con you.

What an utter con! We received a message claiming that “our loft insulation has been flagged as unlawful on some so-called loft insulation register,” which, by the way, doesn’t even exist!

This outfit definitely needs to be shut down immediately!

Got calls from nearly the same number, just one or two digits off. It’s run through Twillo, a firm based in Dublin, I reckon, since loads of these scam calls seem to target folks in England. Tried getting Twillo to take action by reporting these numbers, but they really don’t seem bothered. And the UK government? Honestly, they seem too weak to take on the people behind these scams.

Classic insulation con job, that is. Every time I ask who’s on the line, the caller just dives straight into their sales pitch without offering their name. I ended up leaving the phone off the hook while I carried on with my shaving routine! On top of that, it’s bound to inflate their POTS bill a tad, and gives the traceers-if they actually bother-some time to track down where the call originated. Makes me ponder whether switching off analogue phones in 2025 and leaning more on SIP protocols could enhance our defences against caller ID spoofing?

I noticed this number popped up in my recent calls twice this week. Luckily, I’ve got a call blocker on my landline, so they don’t get through unless I pick up. I guess that’s why they seem to have stopped trying. Having a call blocker really comes in handy for dealing with these kinds of calls.

Classic insulation rip-off again. I asked the caller to identify themselves but they just jumped straight into their sales pitch without saying who they were. Left the phone off the hook and carried on shaving! One good thing is it bumps up their landline bill and gives any trackers, if they're interested, a chance to trace where the call came from.
