So this person actually knew my name and insisted I’d rung them about car finance on Sunday, which is total rubbish. I wish I hadn’t said I’ve never dealt with car finance in the last decade when they asked - as soon as I hung up, I wondered if someone was gonna try and use my info for that exact thing. Best not to give anything away, just hang up and block them straight away :)

Got a call from someone with a South African accent telling me 92% of folks get ripped off when buying car finance. Then he asked if I’d taken out a loan for a car. I told him I wasn’t interested and asked kindly if they could take my number off their list. He was really polite, said that was no problem, and then ended the call.

About an hour ago I got a call from this number. Some bloke asked me for my first name, but before I could even ask who he was, he just cut off the call. Got a call about some mis-sold finance thing, and when I asked where they got my number from, the bloke said I’d done a survey ages ago. I asked him to be a bit more specific since if they’ve got my info on their system, surely they’d know the year I filled it out. Then he said he’d check with his “manager” and put me on hold - that’s when I just ended the call. Total waste of time!

Was waiting for a ring from a Manchester phone number, and thought this was it. Nope, it turned out to be someone asking about car finance I supposedly got mis-sold over the past decade. I never even had any! The thing that worries me most is that the call I was really waiting for was from Co-op Legal Services, and they still haven't got back to me. Looks like this number is tied to 21a Plymouth Road, Barnt Green, Birmingham, B45 8JF, and the name on it’s Stuart Wright. Well, at least now we know where this scammer’s based! No surprise he’s got such a big house, guess all the scamming pays off for him!

Turns out this number is linked to 21a Plymouth Road, Barnt Green, Birmingham, B45 8JF, and it’s registered to a Stuart Wright. Guess that explains why he’s got such a big house - he’s probably making money from scamming folks left and right! At least now we know where this dodgy caller’s based.
