Received a voicemail that sounded like it came from some sort of automated robot, saying they were calling from HMRC and making some vague threats about consequences if I didn’t get back to them. Not that I intended to call them back, mind you! Quite the dodgy business, if you ask me.

They said they were from HMRC and told me to ring a solicitor quick because it was urgent. The voice sounded totally robotic, like no real person was talking. Definitely just a recorded message.

They were meant to say I needed to ring them back or have my lawyer get in touch, not just to ignore the call or anything like that.

I received a call purporting to be from HMRC, and the person on the line was throwing around some serious allegations of fraud against me. I must say, it's rather distressing to be wrongly accused like that! They seemed to think that simply disconnecting the call would result in dire repercussions for me. Absolutely appalling conduct, if you ask me!
