I’ve been getting loads of calls from 0161 numbers lately. Every time I pick up, they just hang up straight away. I’ve blocked one, but then they start calling from a number that’s almost the same. It’s really annoying, like 2 or 3 calls every single day.

I got a call from 01615202999 claiming they had my info from a housing association about damage to my property. Thing is, i own the house and there’s no damage at all. When i told the guy to delete my info, he cut me off right away and said "no, i’m not taking your details off our list, i’ll ring you every single day" which was quite intimidating.

I got a call on my work mobile from someone saying they were with a housing association, but it was hard to understand them because they kept mumbling and said the line was bad. When I asked a few questions, they just said thanks for the info and hung up. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

I said I'd reported problems with the building, like cracks in the walls and dampness, but when I asked who they were working for, the call just got cut off.

I got a phone call from a woman working in a call centre, and she had a really thick accent. She started asking me about my house and if there was anything that needed fixing. I told her to just tell me what products she was trying to sell, and then I’d say if I was interested. Guess she wasn’t up for that kind of chat, ‘cause she just ended the call on me! My guess is she got thrown off when I didn’t go along with her usual script, especially early on before I gave them my card details or anything.

Got a bloke on the line with a strong Asian accent saying I’d reported some repairs for my house. I told him no way, especially since he was ringing from Manchester and I’m based in Glasgow, so there’s no way his housing department would be responsible for me. Told him to jog on pretty sharpish and ended the call.

Got a dodgy call the other day, the bloke’s English was proper rubbish, kept going on about my housing situation and if there was any issues. I just told him the usual stuff about scam calls and folks trying to nick my bank details. Surprisingly, he was pretty polite, said thanks, goodbye, and then ended the call. Strange experience!

Not quite sure what they were saying, but it sounded like something to do with house issues, I guess!

Sounds like a dodgy housing scam. He called claiming I'd sent a complaint about cracks and damp in my place. I just cut the call off before he said more.

Got a call from some dodgy number, they started asking me all kinds of questions about accidents and stuff, pretty sure it was just some spam. Annoying as hell!

Just a heads up, its a SCAM! If you get any dodgy calls or messages try to report them straight away to the police fraud website. You can search for ‘action fraud’ in Google and visit the ‘police.uk’ portal. There’s a section called ‘report a phishing attempt’ where you can find all the info you need. Make sure you put down everything you know about the scam, including any websites or links they sent you. You don’t need to sign up or give your personal details, so no worries there. The cops rely on us reporting this stuff to keep track of how bad the scams are getting.

I couldn't make out anything, it sounded like it was from one of those call centres with loads of chatter but nobody actually said a word.

A call came through claiming there were 'issues' on my property that I'd apparently told the council about. It was one of those dodgy recorded calls with breaks for me to answer. Smelt like a scam straight away, so I just ended the call.

No one said a word, so I couldn't tell what was going on. My phone actually warned me it might be a scam call before I picked up, and all I could hear after answering was this weird high-pitched beep kinda like a little chirp, then silence. I'm too tied up to hang about, so I just end the call if I don't get a proper response after saying "hello" twice.

Got a call about a complaint I supposedly made concerning housing conditions, but it was clear it was a scam. The person on the line had an Asian accent and hung up super fast as soon as I questioned them. Total rubbish.

I picked up and a guy started talking, said his name, then the call just dropped out suddenly. Not a clue who he was or what it was about. Probably just one of those annoying calls.

Got a call from someone pushing alarm systems for £99, kept prying about whether I already had one at my place. I said no and told them I wasn’t keen. Seemed a bit pushy to me. Are these legit sellers or is something dodgy going on here?

I've been getting loads of scam calls too and decided to do something about it. It’s a bit of a faff, but I keep reporting every dodgy call and text to the police database (I’ve bookmarked the site for easy access). The thing is, they need thousands of reports before they can really take action. Loads of people here report scams every day, but it feels like it doesn’t make much difference. I even got a reply from my MP, which was quite enlightening, but honestly, it’s gonna take way more than just me putting in the effort before there’s any real change.

I received a rather intrusive call claiming there was an issue with my property. Once I figured out it was just a dodgy spam call, I kept inquiring about the whereabouts of this so-called house. Eventually, the caller hung up on me after I pressed him a few times.

They asserted they were part of a team dealing with housing issues, requesting personal information such as your date of birth and address. When pressed for how they acquired your number, they merely claimed it was due to some complaint you had made regarding housing repairs, which was supposedly referred to them. It all felt rather dodgy, to be honest!

I was left hanging on the line for a moment before a voice eventually came through. It had an Indian accent and seemed quite robotic, as though it were a pre-recorded message. The first thing I heard was, “there’s an issue with your property.”

I received a call from a chap who introduced himself as 'Mark,' and he had quite a pronounced accent that I would say is from the Indian subcontinent. He insisted that I had lodged a complaint concerning damp and mould in my property. In an attempt to clarify which place he was talking about, I mentioned the address for Buckingham Palace. However, he abruptly disconnected the call before I could explain further.

I received a call purportedly from a housing repair service, claiming to reach out regarding a repair I supposedly requested. The number showed as originating from Manchester, but it was clearly a recorded message rather than a genuine individual. I promptly ended the call, added the number to my block list, and filed a report as it appeared to be a spam attempt.

I received a call claiming to be from the housing department in Manchester, but I reside in Staffordshire! They were on about rising damp issues. When I mentioned that I'm on the eleventh floor of a high-rise, the chap insisted that the moisture is seeping in from the roof. Honestly, what a moron! This reeks of a scandal, if you ask me!
