I ended the call right as soon as I picked up.

On the 12th of October 2022 at about 1pm, I got a call from 01615202565 saying there'd been two transactions on my credit card. They didn’t say which ones exactly, so I got a bit wary. I ended up calling my banks, and both told me there was no activity like that. Pretty sure it was some kind of scam.

For a while in spring I got loads of scam calls, then it quieted down for a bit. But now they're coming back at me really quickly again. Today, this number called me along with three more, which I’m planning to check out too as they seem connected. When I answered this one, there was nothing but silence, so I ended up just hanging up and unplugging my phone altogether.

So this number called me and I quickly realised it was one of those scams trying to get me to download some dodgy app. When I ended the call, they even went as far as sending me a text, which totally confirmed it was a scam. Definitely not trustworthy!

Got a voicemail saying "This is a bank security alert" - yeah right! They never said which bank, asked for no account details, and honestly, my bank doesn't even use my landline. This is the second call like this in just one day but from separate numbers. Looks like these scammers are just reusing the exact same recording over and over.

I reckon it's one of those bank scams. Got a recorded call saying I'd paid £300 or something, so I just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from some scammer claiming they took money from my bank. If only I actually had any cash in my account to take!

Got a recorded call about some Amazon charge for £300 and an international bill of £1100, telling me to press 1 or 2 to stop the payments. I just hung up straight away - seemed like a total scam to me. They actually rang me twice from the same number in just a couple of hours.

Some bloke called me saying he was from Visa, claimed someone was buying iPhones using my card abroad. I just kept grilling him, kept him talking without letting him say much. Eventually, he just gave up and ended the call. Honestly, I reckon the best way to deal with these scam calls is to drown them in your own jibber-jabber!

Got a call again from this number 01133308727, same voice as yesterday, pretending to be from the bank’s security team. I’m sure it’s a scam, but I worry some might actually fall for it.

Got a voicemail about a £300 fee and some international transfer over £1000 supposedly from my bank (didn’t say which one) saying it was done online. Then it asked me to press 1 if I wanted to keep it or 2 to stop it. I just hung up straight away - totally a scam!

Got a call earlier and it was one of those pre-recorded bank messages. Really annoying when you’re expecting a real person!

This was clearly a scam from a bank trying to trick me.

I just got yet another dodgy call from a number linked to Telnyx UK ltd. If you get any calls like that, make sure you report them. You can Google 'action fraud' and head over to the UK police website. Then find the phishing report section and scroll right down to the end to fill in the quick form. Stay safe everyone!

Some bloke called "David" rang me claiming to be from Visa, saying there were two dodgy charges on my card. I asked him to prove it by giving me the last four digits, but the numbers he gave were totally wrong. Didn’t seem to faze him though, he just kept going with the scam spiel. I played along for a bit, chatting away till I got fed up and ended the call. Weirdly, he told me he liked my voice - proper creepy as well as a scammer!

Somebody called claiming to be from my bank security, telling me my account was used for a £300 purchase on Amazon plus a £1000 international transaction. They told me to press 1 if I accepted the charges or 2 to talk to someone.

For two days straight I’ve been getting calls from some bank scam with a robot voice, and it just cuts off every time. So annoying!

Got a call from this number claiming my Visa was being charged without permission. They told me to switch on my computer so they could block the supposed scam transactions. When I said I wasn’t comfortable, they insisted that if I didn’t open a particular app, the money would definitely be taken. I then asked for their phone number and that’s when they snapped and ended the call. Seemed quite convincing at first but something felt off. The number they used was 01615202565.

I keep receiving these calls claiming I've made two transactions, honestly, are these people for real? It’s disheartening to think about folks who fall prey to such scams. It’s absolutely dreadful how persistently these unscrupulous characters harass others. Clearly, something must be done to tackle this appalling situation.

I've received a couple of calls today, but unfortunately, I couldn't pick them up. I tried using 1471 and selected option 3, only for the operator to say 'oops, there seems to be an issue, do have another go.' I decided against it and ended up blocking the number instead.

There was only silence on the other end and then they just ended the call after about 11 seconds.

Every single day they ring me up, and it’s always the same recorded message about some dodgy transaction. Definitely a scam, not from any real bank.

I think this number looks legit, but it’s hard to tell if it’s really your bank or just a scammer pretending to be them. Take a look at the banner near the top of this site. It’s safer to ring your bank directly before you block the number. You don’t want to miss out on genuine calls by blocking one that scammers have faked. Always double-check before reacting to any unexpected call.

Got a call from some ‘bank security team’ saying there were two big charges, £600 and £1000, on Amazon. They wanted me to press 1 to chat or 2 to confirm the transactions. Sounded sketchy, no actual bank name mentioned and who really uses recorded calls like that? Put them straight on blocked.

Seems like some dodgy scam groups are using this Telnyx UK ltd voip service to send out scam calls and texts. It's a good idea to report any suspicious calls to Telnyx and also to the police through action fraud. Just search 'action fraud' on Google, go to the UK police website, find the phishing report section, and at the bottom, you can fill out a quick report. Stay safe everyone!

One was for £300 linked to Amazon and another, a rather hefty £1700 for an international money transfer. The voice sounded very artificial and there was a strange lapse between "from" and "Bank" - if it were genuinely my bank reaching out, they'd surely use their official name right at that moment. Without hesitation, I hung up and made sure to block their number. Please, for the love of all things good, do not engage with this kind of call or attempt to return the call - it’s clearly a scam!

I've given up on answering my landline since it feels like over 99% of the calls are dodgy scams. Plus, they never bother leaving a voicemail. My doctor, hospital, mates, and family all have my mobile number anyway. After seeing what others have said, I’m relieved I didn’t pick up that last time.

This number has rung me quite a few times, usually about some strange charge on my credit card or bank account. Best to just not bother with it.

I must say, your comment doesn't seem to be of much assistance, does it? You mention "nice people", but if you're using that term sincerely, it seems you're a bit out of touch, considering the multitude of other comments pointing out that the caller is a notorious scammer. If it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek, then it still fails to provide any useful information. Quite the puzzlement, really, isn't it?

This number keeps ringing me like 3 or 4 times a day. With my husband recently passed away, I have to pick up as there’s loads of stuff I need to sort out, but if it wasn’t that, I’d just let it go unanswered. Honestly, it’s really getting on my nerves.

Got another call today from what I think is some dodgy call centre, saying like 600 quid had been taken from my card abroad. They told me to press a button to speak with bank security, but really it was another scammer from the same scam operation trying to nick my banking info. Total con.

This has gotta be a banking scam, no doubt about it. I’d say just block the number straight away. It’s just some dodgy people trying to pull a fast one. If you’re worried, call your bank directly to let them know about the call and make sure everything’s alright with your account. Better safe than sorry!

Got a call supposedly from Visa Security about a £600 charge abroad. I asked to speak to someone and got a bloke who said his name was Jonathan Webb, but his accent sounded more like he was called Ranjit or something. When I asked what the call was about and said “You’re the one who called me,” he just hung up. Total scam. Visa wouldn’t ring you themselves, it’d be the card company they use. Definitely marking this as dodgy and a scam.

I often receive calls from this number almost daily. I've taken to leaving my phone off the receiver until they're done. It seems to be some sort of bank security issue they’re droning on about, but it’s clearly a scam that could easily trip up unsuspecting folks. Does anyone know how I can put an end to these annoying calls?
