Got a call from someone claiming to be Carphone Warehouse - total scam, sounded dodgy as hell and the person couldn’t even speak proper English. Honestly, reporting it to Action Fraud is pointless, they won’t do much about it. Best just to ignore and hang up straight away.

Hey mods, just wanna say this is a total scam, please check it out. Don’t ruin Carphone Warehouse’s reputation over this. I haven’t bought a phone in ages, so there’s no way they’ve got my number. Total spam! I picked up and just messed around with them for a bit, can be pretty funny if you’ve got time to kill. They’ll probably pass your number onto other spam callers, but honestly its better to keep them busy than let some poor person get scammed.

I rang them back but only got their voicemail.
This has happened about 8 times now (been applying for jobs including the army), and every time it’s picked up but my bluetooth was connected so my mic wasn’t working. By the time I fixed it and said hi (no more than 15 seconds), they just hung up.
Not sure if they’re really professional and prefer calls over emails or texts in this day and age, or if it’s just some dodgy spam. I honestly can’t tell.

Beware, this is definitely a SCAM! They claim to be from places like Manchester or Carphone Warehouse, or some company like that - don’t fall for it. Glad I came across this warning, maybe it helps someone else avoid the same trap. Seriously, it’s all a big SCAM!

received a call from someone claiming to be Car Phone Warehouse, but they sounded clueless and couldn’t even finish a sentence. I just ended the call and blocked the number. If you’re fed up with all these scammers stealing from the vulnerable and pestering everyone else, here’s what you need to do. It might take some time, but I’ve been reporting scam messages and phone calls directly to the police database (I keep the link bookmarked for easy access). Sadly, it’ll need thousands of people to keep reporting before there’s any real impact, and there are lots of folks reporting scams on this site daily. You won’t see instant results if you bother doing this, but if nobody acts, these scams will just keep carrying on endlessly.

Then it asked me to press 1 to talk to someone or 9 to add a number. I hit 1, but then it said something like "Sorry, connection 0092 isn't available right now. Leave a message please," so I just ended the call.
