Got a call from someone claiming to be Carphone Warehouse - total scam, sounded dodgy as hell and the person couldn’t even speak proper English. Honestly, reporting it to Action Fraud is pointless, they won’t do much about it. Best just to ignore and hang up straight away.

I must raise an alarm-this appears to be nothing more than a fraudulent scheme, and I implore you to double-check. It's disappointing to see legitimate enterprises like Carphone Warehouse being tarnished. Personally, I haven’t acquired a new mobile in ages, so there's no way they’d have my digits.

Absolute nonsense! If you happen to pick up the phone, why not have a bit of fun and string them along for a while? It's quite amusing if you’ve got a spare moment. Sure, they might pass your details on to other pesky spammers, but honestly, wasting their time is far more entertaining than letting them prey on someone who might be easily duped. Give it a go!

I gave it a whirl to return the call, but all I got was a bloody answering machine. I’ve tried reaching out eight times now, all in the pursuit of new job opportunities (including with the Army). Each time they picked up, but strangely, my Bluetooth was activated, leaving my mic muted. By the time I’d sorted it all out and managed to say ‘hello’-which couldn’t have been more than a mere 15 seconds-they’d already dropped the line. It's a curious situation: either they’re exceptionally professional to warrant a callback rather than sending a simple email or text in this day and age, or they’re just another set of nuisance callers. I can’t quite make up my mind!

It might take some time, but I’ve been reporting scam messages and phone calls directly to the police database (I keep the link bookmarked for easy access). Sadly, it’ll need thousands of people to keep reporting before there’s any real impact, and there are lots of folks reporting scams on this site daily. You won’t see instant results if you bother doing this, but if nobody acts, these scams will just keep carrying on endlessly.

I received a missed call earlier and decided to return it. Upon dialling back, I was greeted by a robotic voice that mentioned something like "Thank you for reaching Steve Limited," though it was a bit difficult to catch everything clearly. The voice offered options, suggesting I press 1 to speak to someone or 9 if I wanted to add a number. Naturally, I pressed 1, hoping to get through to a real person. Unfortunately, I was met with a message stating, "Apologies, your connection 0092 is presently unavailable. Kindly leave a message after the beep." At that point, I figured it was best to just hang up.
