I received a rather pushy call attempting to peddle life insurance, just after I was told my current policy is being terminated. The caller even insisted on verifying my details under the guise of security checks. Honestly, it felt like they were just desperate to get me to divulge my personal information, rambling on and on with their high-pressure sales tactics. Quite off-putting, to say the least!

Someone called saying they could sort out my PPI claim for me, which was news to me since I never even made one. The person on the phone was really cheeky and rude, kept pushing even when I said no. They said they needed my bank info to ‘delete’ me from their records, which sounded fishy to me.

Over the last fortnight, I've been inundated with calls from numbers beginning with 0161, and the latest one was supposedly from a UK Mobile, a company I'm completely unfamiliar with. The call quality was quite poor, accompanied by a lot of background noise which made it even more frustrating. It's genuinely starting to annoy me now!

Claiming to be affiliated with Virgin Media, this individual posed a series of seemingly legitimate questions, and then went on to assert that I was eligible for a 45% discount on my existing bill. However, when they presented the revised amount, it fell dramatically short of the promised reduction. When they proceeded to request sensitive information, I opted to end the call abruptly.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Virgin Media. I asked them to tell me my name and before I knew it, they were pushing some promo nonsense. I told them if they can’t even get my name right, they shouldn’t have my number and ended the call. Seems like scam calls are coming through nonstop today. If the person calling doesn’t ask for me by name straight away or starts with “How’s your day going?”, and they speak with an Indian accent, I just hang up without a second thought.

I usually let the phone ring out completely before blocking the caller, then I look up the number here. They've rung me like 17 times today, each from a different one. I always make it a point to check unknown numbers before answering - if I don't recognise it, I just wait for it to stop. If you pick up by mistake, they know your number's active and add it to a list they trade. It’s impossible to stop them pestering you, sometimes you have to change your number and even then it doesn’t help. Even if you get your number from a big company, they often pass it on anyway.

kept ringing me up saying they were with "virgin media" or something, always the same "how’s your day going?" shtick. they’ve called over ten times this past week using numbers starting with 0161 520 and 0204 520. honestly next call I’m just gonna put it on loudspeaker and take a massive poop, see how they like that.

Dont answer this call, its definitely a scam! They said they were from Virgin Media and started asking how much im paying for Virgin Mobile. They claimed there was a deal for only £6 with unlimited texts and calls, which is way cheaper than my current plan. But then they said I had to pay a refundable fee of £39.99 over the phone which they'd give back after 14 days. When I asked if they could email me the details or if I could check it in a nearby shop, they got quite rude and said, “if you want to go to a shop and find this great offer, then do it yourself”. Felt very dodgy to me!

This bloke rang me up, purporting to represent a mobile provider I’ve never encountered before, trying to entice me with a supposed 30% discount on my "existing plan." Got a call from someone saying they were from Virgin Media, claiming I could get a discount on my internet package. They asked for my full name, address, DOB and stuff. Later on I rang Virgin Media directly and found out there were two orders made in my name - an iPhone 13 Pro and a Samsung S22 Ultra! Just a heads up for everyone to watch out. Thankfully the Virgin Media folks helped me get everything fixed up now.
