Got a call from this Indian bloke with a thick accent, spoke rubbish English, saying he was from Curry and PC World, or something about a new phone deal. Told him I was busy at work and couldn’t chat, but he kept pushing to call me back, asking when would be a good time. I just told him NEVER and hung up, then blocked the number. I reckon they'll ring again using a different number and some other excuse. Honestly, I can't make sense of these kinds of calls.

Some bloke from Scotland rang up, called me by my name and then just hung up before I could get a word in. That awkward silence and the click, typical of an auto dialler, pretty much confirmed it wasn't someone I wanted to chat with.

Got a call from a woman who sounded like she had an Asian accent, made me think it was a call centre. Maybe it was some takeaway from Manchester trying to drum up more orders, though that seems odd since the food would be cold by the time it got here! My mother-in-law got a call from someone with an Indian accent asking for my father-in-law, who’s been gone for like five years now. The bloke was speaking all sort of nonsense and didn’t really say what he was after. It was pretty clear it was some kind of scam, but we couldn’t make sense of what he was on about. I received a phone call from someone claiming to be with BT, insisting that we talk about some broadband issues I supposedly reported earlier. The individual asked for remote access to my computer, asserting that there were complications with my router stemming from my device. He confidently assured me that he could resolve the entire issue within an hour. However, seeing as BT isn’t even my service provider, I strongly suspect this was just a ruse to gain access.

So I got a call from some scammers, led by this Dolly Gupta, who's part of a sketchy crew playing the 'safety survey' card. When I pressed them, they admitted they were calling from the Philippines. It's like they're relentless, hitting us up on the phone and probably sneaking over across the Channel in small boats. I used to chuckle at my dad whenever he muttered that "the country’s going downhill," but now, after all this time, I’m starting to see his point. These outsiders just don’t seem to share our values. Honestly, I’m all for bringing back Rwanda!
