I received a rather dubious call claiming I was involved in a car accident and that I was entitled to a £3,000 payout. They’ve persistently rung me thrice, despite my clear assertions that they’re nothing but con artists. Even after I insisted their story was nonsense, they keep trying to extract my personal information. Quite infuriating, really!

Got a call on 10th March 2022 around 12:45, sounded like one of those automated calls pretending to be from housing services, asking if I had reported any damp or leaks at home. When I mentioned financial problems, they asked me to say it again and then just cut me off. Oddly, I know a mate and a relative both having damp troubles in their rental places. I’m retired (70) so these scams really worry me. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.
