01615201917 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01615201917 👆 is reported as a nuisance scam number frequently impersonating Virgin Media, often using foreign accents, particularly Indian. Callers typically offer fake deals, ask personal contract details, or remain silent before hanging up. Multiple users report persistent and repeated calls, sometimes with dead lines or quick disconnections. Attempts to engage usually reveal unprofessional or suspicious behaviour, reinforcing the consensus that these are fraudulent calls aiming to extract information or mislead recipients. Blocking is commonly attempted but seems ineffective as scammers use various spoofed or fake numbers. Many advise reporting such calls to the police fraud database and contacting MPs to urge telecom industry reforms to tackle spoofing and scam calls more effectively. Caution and vigilance are strongly recommended.

Had a run-in with some dodgy callers this morning; they were insisting they were from Virgin Media and offering to refund me on my bill. I told them I had looked up their number online and could see they were up to no good. As soon as I called them out, they simply ended the call. Typical!

A gentleman with an accent that seemed to be Indian rang me up, insisting he was representing Virgin Media. When I expressed my doubts about his identity, he cheekily responded with, "I love you, I love you though we've never met." I nearly fell about laughing at that one! Just had to share this, what an absolute con artist!

Got a call from some bloke with a thick Indian accent saying he was from Virgin Media. I told him I doubted it was really Virgin Media and he suddenly says, "I love you, I love you even without seeing you." I couldn’t stop chuckling thinking about having to put this down here, what a proper dodgy scammer!

I received a call from a chap who sounded distinctly Indian, asserting he was from Virgin Media. I had my doubts and expressed my suspicions, to which he cheekily responded with, “I love you, I love you without having laid eyes on you.” I couldn’t help but chuckle at the absurdity of it all! Had to share this on here - what a classic con artist!

On 24th March I saw a few posts explaining how to put a stop to scam calls. It’s not gonna be quick or easy, but I gave it a go myself and keep flagging up dodgy calls and texts through the police system. Problem is, it’s gonna need loads of us to keep reporting before real action kicks in. Loads of folks are reporting scam numbers here daily anyway.

Just as I finally answered, the call abruptly dropped. It rang a mere two or three times, so clearly I wasn’t tardy in picking up. It’s evident that the caller intentionally cut the line. I haven’t been able to get in touch with him since that moment.

Watch out, it’s definitely a scam! If you have any scam calls or messages, make sure you report them. Just search for ‘action fraud’ and head over to the official police.uk website. Find the section about reporting phishing or fraud attempts and carefully read all the info there. Afterwards, put in all the details about the scam right into their system, don’t forget to add any links or website addresses you have. That’s really the only way the police will get a clear picture of how big this problem is.

I normally ignore calls from numbers I don’t know and they didn’t leave a voicemail either. Just noticed I’ve got a few missed calls from this same number on my phone. Had a quick look online for any info about them before thinking about calling back, but came up empty-handed. Anyone else picked up when they called? What’s the story with this number?

I received a call from that same number earlier as well. It didn’t ring any bells, so I chose not to pick up. After stumbling upon your comment here, I really appreciate the warning. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Claimed to represent Virgin Media, he did, saying they had some smashing offers on phones. Kept prodding about how much I forked out for my current deal. I mentioned I was already with Virgin, so surely he'd have that info on hand? Yet, he persisted with his questions. Quite dubious, if you ask me-definitely seemed like a scammer!
