I received a call from a lady who had a distinct Indian accent, but the background noise was quite distracting-sounded like your typical call centre chaos. She was claiming to be from Housing Disrepair and asked whether I was associated with a council or housing authority. I found her to be rather insistent, which didn’t sit well with me, so I’ve taken the liberty of blocking the number.

I rang the number back using my work phone and a lady picked up, saying it was the housing disrepair team. I’m pretty certain it’s some sort of scam. They keep ringing me every day but always from a new number, claiming to be all sorts of different companies. Definitely stay clear of them!

Some lady with a thick accent picked up, there was loads of noise in the background. She was talking about housing repairs and asked if I was with the council or housing. I told her I’m just private renting, and right after she said sorry for the confusion, she ended the call.
