Got a call from some bloke called Ali who claimed he was with the council's housing folks. He said they'd been told we'd reported damp or something wrong with the house, and that we might get up to £4000 in compensation. Sounds like a total scam to me. As soon as I hung up on him, he kept ringing back like 3 or 4 times straight away.

Some bloke rang me claiming to be from the housing association but never mentioned which one. He called me by my first name, which my council never does unless I’ve given them permission. I usually keep my phone close in case something urgent pops up, so I thought it might be something important since they never left a message. Started asking about damp and mould in the house. I asked what association again but just got “a Housing Association, just tell me” and I was like nah, get lost mate. I’m up in Scotland, so obvious scam. Blocked straight away and reported. Don’t bother calling back!
