I received a call from someone named "Ali," who claimed to represent the local council’s housing association. He mentioned that they had received a report regarding damp issues or damage in our home, and that we might be eligible for compensation of up to £4000. It struck me as a blatant scam. As soon as I hung up on him, he proceeded to ring me three or four times in quick succession. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

This number keeps ringing me every single day, even after I told them to stop calling. I ended up blocking it so my phone no longer buzzes, but I can still check the missed calls. They say they’re from some housing association about a problem with my home, but I actually own it myself, so I’m not falling for it.

Some bloke rang me claiming to be from the housing association but never mentioned which one. He called me by my first name, which my council never does unless I’ve given them permission. Started asking about damp and mould in the house. I asked what association again but just got “a Housing Association, just tell me” and I was like nah, get lost mate. I’m up in Scotland, so obvious scam. Blocked straight away and reported. Don’t bother calling back!
