I tend not to respond to calls from numbers I’m unfamiliar with, especially after checking 1471. I deliberately avoid leaving any voicemail messages. This is definitely one of those odd numbers I don't recognise.

Just a thought on the whole voicemail situation: when these calls go to voicemail, it seems like the scammers are just confirming there’s an actual person attached to that number. It’s almost like they're laying the groundwork for some high-level con, isn't it? I mean, even when you pick up and hear nothing on the other end, it’s got to be for the same reason-just checking if the line is active. It baffles me why they bother with that!

The person on the line claimed I'd signed up for some "free call blocking" service (bit rich, that) and asked me to verify the expiry date on the card they'd supposedly got. When I told them I didn’t have my wallet or any cards about me, they just went round in circles repeating the same question. I've flagged this as unsafe and honestly, pretty awful as well. Someone called me claiming to be "Charles" from the TPS a short while ago, asking if I was receiving unsolicited calls. When I asked him why he was ringing me, he got all bossy saying, "listen to me Madam," and when I questioned if he was genuine, he just said "I know your postcode" and told it to me. Then he hung up. I looked up the TPS site and they definitely don't call like this. Better to ignore, it's obviously a scam.

I received a rather peculiar call from individuals claiming to be adult film stars on a quest to locate their estranged mother. To my surprise, they began referring to me as "mummy". I promptly clarified that I wasn't their parent. They proceeded to share a rather disheartening tale about their lack of education, which they attributed to skiving off school and getting caught in a rather compromising situation behind the bins, leading to their expulsion from education and society as a whole. They lamented their unfortunate upbringing, expressing feelings of ignorance and desperation, and even went so far as to request my bank details in their attempts to secure some funds. I advised them that it’s never too late to pursue education and better themselves. However, they lamented their existence as failures, claiming they were incapable of filling out a job application, let alone securing legitimate employment. The situation escalated to the point where the caller, clearly overwhelmed by frustration and insecurity about his unsuccessful pleas for money, ended up in a fit of anger-resulting in some rather unfortunate bodily functions before he abruptly hung up. I sincerely hope they take this opportunity to seek education and a proper job, just like countless others who contribute positively to society, rather than resorting to what one might call "modern begging" over the phone.

I found it rather amusing, to be honest! It appears this number managed to leave me a voicemail, which I suspect was just an accidental call. There was quite a bit of shuffling about, along with some jolly, though rather unintelligible, banter from a lady mate, not to mention a rather charming whistling tune. It was quite the glimpse into someone else's world. Nevertheless, I'll be putting this number on my blocked list!

They claimed to be from Sky and were quite pushy, telling me to get on my computer so they could sort out an issue. I refused, and then they kept pushing to arrange a callback, insisting it had to be between 8am and 2pm. That’s not usual office hours here in the UK, so I was pretty sure it was a scam.
