Received a call from someone claiming to be Jade, who inquired if I was Mr XXXX. Instead of confirming my identity, I asked her who she was. Her accent suggested she wasn't local. She mentioned that she was representing some company, but when I asked her to repeat it, it was still completely unclear. Apparently, the call was about life insurance. I mentioned that I already had a policy, to which she responded that she was aware and was discussing the benefits. I made it clear that I wasn’t interested in any sales pitch, yet she insisted she wasn’t selling anything. When I pressed her on why she was contacting me, she abruptly raised her voice. I couldn’t help but retort, “Is this how you address clients from a supposed reputable insurance firm?” before hanging up. I'm beginning to think this might be a phishing attempt.
