About 5 hours ago, on the evening of 29/11/2019, I received a call from the number 01615185547. It was one of those recorded messages saying they were from HMRC and warning me of legal action. Pretty sure it’s just a scam.

Got a call saying it was from HMRC and some agent called Daniel saying I had to ring back straight away. I thought maybe my accountant messed up my self assessment and I got worried. Rang them back about four times but couldn’t get through to anyone. After a bit, it dawned on me that it sounded dodgy - HMRC usually aren’t so dramatic or threatening, so I figured it was probably a scam.

On the 28th of November, I got a call from this number. It was one of those automated messages saying I owed money to HMRC and that legal steps were already underway. Creepy part was, they actually said my full name. Then, the automated voice switched over to an actual person who, after totally butchering my surname, repeated the claim and said there was a warrant out for my arrest! I could tell right away it was a scam, so I asked why HMRC hadn't sent me anything in the post, and then they just cut me off.

Received a call today, 27th of November, 2019, from someone purporting to be a Customs and Excise Tax inspector. They left a recorded message, which I found rather suspicious, so I decided to hang up and subsequently blocked the number.
