I got a call from someone who said his name was Daniel and he was with EonNext, talking about my electricity renewal rates! After reading the comments here, it’s clear he’s just a broker trying to pitch me his services.

this bloke called daniel kept ringing me, saying he’s from sse and sorting out new deals for my electricity. he sounded like he knew what he was on about, even mentioned the name on the account and the meter number. but then he asked me for the renewal date, which felt odd - i told him if he’s with sse he should have that info already. he said it’s a data protection thing and he couldn’t share the details with me. felt really fishy, wouldn’t trust him at all.

Got a call from someone claiming to be my energy provider, saying they were lining up quotes for when my deal finishes. They even had my meter number, which was odd, but then said they couldn’t tell me when my contract ended because of data protection rules, and asked me to confirm it instead. I didn’t want to give anything away as it sounded fishy, so I just ended the call. My actual supplier always posts any price changes, so I’m pretty sure it was a scam.

They've called me about four times now saying they're from Bulb, wanting to know if I'm okay with the price hike. But honestly, I reckon they're actually trying to get me to switch energy companies. Quite annoying really.
