A woman calling herself Tia rang me claiming to be from Lloyds about some tax payout linked to a PPI refund. She said she’d ring again but after seeing the reviews on here, I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number.

Got a call from a woman with an English accent saying she was from the FCA working for HMRC about tax issues on my PPI. She already had all my info and even confirmed it. I ended up giving her my National Insurance number. She promised to send some paperwork by email for authorisation, but nothing came through. Then she said she’d ring back in ten minutes. I still hadn’t got the email, so I asked if she could send a link to my phone instead since she said paperwork couldn’t be posted due to Covid. I told her no and knew it was a scam. 😕

My husband picked up the phone and asked who was on the other end. The person said it was her boyfriend, then went on with some really detailed and disturbing chat. If someone is in an abusive situation, hearing that stuff could seriously cause a lot of harm.
