Today, I got calls twice from 0161 513 7855 - both times I ignored it. Later, a robotic lady left a voicemail saying something like: “This is the hotline to my division, 0161 513 7855. Please don’t ignore this message and ring us back. If we don’t get a call from you or your solicitor, be prepared for legal action. Goodbye and take care.” I knew straight away it was a scam, but it worries me that some people might get frightened and end up calling back, only to get ripped off.

A couple of hours back, I got a rather dodgy automated voicemail from this number. The recording claimed that I had outstanding tax payments and threatened me with legal action if I didn't settle up. They tried to lure me in with some button-pressing options, but I swiftly figured out it was all a scam and had nothing to do with HMRC at all.
