I got a call from a woman working for a charity who asked if I’d like to make a donation. We ended up having a really pleasant chat, which was refreshing since I usually get loads of dodgy calls. Glad this one wasn’t a con!

I got two missed calls nearly back to back and decided to call back. The person on the other end claimed to be from HMRC. I told her that HMRC don't usually phone people, so she suddenly threatened me with a police visit and then just cut me off. Very dodgy!

I usually dont pick up calls from unfamiliar numbers but saw the message they left about HMRC and felt worried. It was some robotic voice saying if I dont ring back, I could face legal problems. Decided to just block the number and let HMRC know about it. Definitely dodgy, stay cautious folks.

Got a voicemail from a Miss Nicola Todd, sounded American, saying she was from Inland Revenue. Bit dodgy if you ask me. Don’t pick up or ring back - I’ve reported similar calls to Action Fraud and they confirmed it’s a scam. Surprisingly, these con artists are still at it. Just a heads up, Inland Revenue will only get in touch through the post, never over the phone.

This number is really dodgy, it's completely visible on my screen and the caller is just an automated message with an American accent claiming to be Monica Todd and telling you to ring back the same number. At first, it might seem legit enough, but then it starts going on about solicitors and legal threats. HMRC would never handle things like this through a robo-call, so honestly, don’t waste time calling it or you might get caught up in a scam.

I got a call from someone named Monica who said she was with HMRC. She warned me about legal trouble and said a police officer was on the way to arrest me for unpaid tax from four years ago. She insisted they’d sent letters and called before, but that’s not true. They managed to trick my family into handing over money. Seriously, don’t pick up or reply to calls like this. They make it sound really official, and after getting some cash, they set up a meeting with a fake contact at a nearby HMRC office, even giving a reference number to make it seem legit so you’d pay the rest.

This number rang me but I didn’t have a clue who it was, so I just let it ring out to voicemail. The message had a robotic female voice claiming to be from Inland Revenue, saying they were preparing a case against me. They warned that either I or my lawyer had to get in touch or I’d face serious problems. It sounded pretty intimidating, and I can imagine it might scare someone who’s already worried. I ended up deleting the voicemail and blocked the caller straight away.

I've been getting these dodgy calls, all purporting to be from the tax office. I chose to ignore the call this time and let it go to voicemail. A rather robotic-sounding woman with an American twang left a message saying I needed to return the call lest I find myself in a spot of bother, claiming this was my sole warning.
