Best to steer clear of this number; it’s a scam. The voicemail could come across as rather menacing, but just brush it off. Out of sheer curiosity, I decided to return the call and ended up chatting with some rather dim-witted crook who insisted that I owed taxes for a time when I clearly settled all my dues, given that I have a job. Quite ridiculous, really!

I received an automated message in a rather strong American accent, claiming to be from HMRC, with a specific mention of someone named Janet Woods. They insisted that our solicitor must return their call without delay on the same number. The tone seemed quite ominous about facing repercussions if our legal representative didn’t reach out. Interestingly, they didn’t provide any reference number and I wasn’t even aware HMRC employed such automated calls. Hence, I won’t be engaging my solicitor to get in touch with them! The call was labelled as originating from HMRC.

This number just rang me but I didn’t pick up, allowing it to go straight to voicemail. The message left was pretty scary, spoken by a robotic female voice with an American accent. I wasn’t worried though, as I don’t owe anything to HMRC nor do I require a lawyer. Still, I followed the recommendation and reported it on the Action Fraud website.

Just like some others here, I got a scary call claiming to be from "Inland Revenue & Customs" with a strange automated lady’s voice. I’m telling all my family, mates and neighbours to watch out for this scam and NEVER answer or interact with it. My phone shows their line is still connected since I didn’t hang up straight away and as I write this, it’s been running for 28 minutes - looks like I’m keeping them on the hook for a bit longer. I’ll check back in a few hours and see how long it goes on, haha.

What a dodgy lot! I just received a rather unpleasant phone call from someone claiming to represent HMRC, threatening me with arrest over a supposed debt. To make matters worse, the caller had the audacity to instruct me to press a button on my phone to sort it out. Honestly, it’s utterly absurd to think that HMRC would reach out like that, especially not in such an abrasive manner.
