4 yearsThat was a close one! However, close doesn't cut it! They insisted I was owed a PPI compensation refund of £2500. All they were really after was my banking details to get into my account. Cheeky blighters!4 yearsI received a call from someone claiming I was owed over £2000 in PPI compensation linked to a 2017 claim. He said he could transfer the funds directly to my bank account. However, when I declined to share any personal details over the phone, he surprisingly recited my full address and postcode, which made him sound quite credible. I suggested he send me a cheque instead, but he insisted he didn’t need any of my banking details and urged me to check my account balance. Despite not accessing my banking app, I asked him to provide the office address so I could settle the claim in person, considering it was a Mancunian number. Unsurprisingly, he abruptly ended the call!4 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be with Virgin Media, telling me my wifi was slow and they’d sort it out for free. I wasn’t sure at first but kept listening.
