Had the exact same thing happen to me. I decided not to ring them back. If you see a number beginning with those 7 digits, best not to answer or return the call unless you’re sure who it is.

Got a call, didn’t catch who it was, and there was no voicemail or anything. When I called back, it just played some robo message saying “Sorry, the lines are busy, please call again.” Pretty obvious it was just a spam call.

I received a rather discourteous call from this number, where a chap was probing about whether I had any life insurance. He was incredibly brusque and short-tempered, not affording me much time to respond before abruptly hanging up. It appears he was attempting to sell something, but with such a poor demeanor, there’s no chance I’d be interested. Quite off-putting, to say the least!

I received a rather curious call this morning from a woman inquiring if my name was William, which, funnily enough, isn’t my name at all. She then proceeded to ask me to verify the owner of my phone number, claiming she wanted to chat about life insurance from Legal & General. Her voice had a distinctly erratic tone to it, almost as if she’d had a bit too much to drink or perhaps indulged in something rather stronger earlier in the day. I decided it would be best to cut the conversation short and swiftly ended the call. It was quite the odd encounter!
