Got a recorded call saying my BT broadband would be cut off today unless I pressed 1 to keep it on. Didn’t press anything, but then wasted 25 minutes trying to ring BT myself, only to find out it was just a dodgy scam.

Got a call today around 6.14pm from a woman asking if I was eligible for some government-backed home repairs. Got a call from a young woman who said she was with PR research and somehow knew my name and where I live. Got a call from someone asking if I'd done any home work like walls done etc. Then they checked my age to see if I could get a government grant and said I qualify. Then they said a manager would ring me back real quick. Sure enough, 01615050927 called me back in about 10 mins. Just ignore this scam about replacing your roof when the surveyor gets in touch. This UK company is totally ignoring the TPS rules and should honestly be fined by OFCOM.

I told him to stop calling as I’m on the TPS and my number’s ex-directory, but he acted like he was well aware of that already. He was pretty fake and ended the call wishing me a good afternoon - at half past seven in the evening! If they buzz again, I’m ready to blow the whistle straight away.

0161 - I knew straight away this was one of those Manchester call centres. Even though I’m on the TPS list, they keep phoning lots of different numbers and it’s really annoying! Sometimes it’s some sort of survey, other times it’s about saving energy or some dodgy scheme. Since I don’t know anyone from Manchester, I just ignore all calls starting with 0161 now.

Got a call from The Home Improvers Group claiming grants were available for my area. I told them I was on the TPS list. The guy insisted I had to renew my TPS status every 6 months, which is rubbish. Then I asked for a supervisor, who claimed I'd ticked a box somewhere allowing them to ring me - again, total rubbish. She said they scan numbers and mine must have been missed. I’m definitely reporting them to the TPS. Funny enough, they didn’t just hang up when I mentioned TPS or asked for the manager, which normally happens with these calls.
