Got a recorded call saying my BT broadband would be cut off today unless I pressed 1 to keep it on. Didn’t press anything, but then wasted 25 minutes trying to ring BT myself, only to find out it was just a dodgy scam.

I've received two phone calls from this group within the span of two days. Unfortunately, I wasn't available to answer and they didn't leave a voicemail. However, I tried calling them back but no one picked up; instead, it redirected to a recording stating that they were from UK Property Research. It's worth mentioning that we are registered with TPS as well.

Got a call from someone asking if I'd done any home work like walls done etc. Then they checked my age to see if I could get a government grant and said I qualify. Then they said a manager would ring me back real quick. Sure enough, 01615050927 called me back in about 10 mins. Just ignore this scam about replacing your roof when the surveyor gets in touch. This UK company is totally ignoring the TPS rules and should honestly be fined by OFCOM.

I received a phone call this evening from an unidentified caller. The individual on the other end was named Daniel and I must say, his attempt at persuasion left much to be desired. I informed him that he had breached my privacy by contacting me, as I have taken the necessary precautions of being ex-directory and registered with TPS. It's rather ironic that he himself was aware of this. His insincerity was evident as he bid me to have a pleasant afternoon, despite it already being 7:30pm! Should they have the audacity to call me again, I shall be prepared with my handy whistle next to the phone.

Some bloke called Daniel from "UK Property Research" rang me and even used my name, asking if I was alright this morning. I told him straight, "No, I’m fed up with cold calls, buzz off." They say it’s just research at first, but it always turns out to be a sales pitch. I’m reporting him to TPS/ICO and have blocked the number now.

0161 - I knew straight away this was one of those Manchester call centres. Even though I’m on the TPS list, they keep phoning lots of different numbers and it’s really annoying! Sometimes it’s some sort of survey, other times it’s about saving energy or some dodgy scheme. Since I don’t know anyone from Manchester, I just ignore all calls starting with 0161 now.

A representative from The Home Improvers Group called me and claimed that grants were available specifically in my area. I informed them that I am registered with the TPS (Telephone Preference Service). To my surprise, they insisted that I need to renew my registration every six months, which is completely untrue. Afterwards, I escalated the matter to a supervisor who stated that I must have accidentally consented to their contact by ticking a box on a form. This explanation also seemed baseless. The supervisor mentioned that they scan telephone numbers to identify registered ones, and somehow my number slipped through their system. I expressed my intention to report them to the TPS for their misleading conduct. However, I must give them credit for not terminating the call when I mentioned my TPS registration or when I requested to speak with a supervisor. Typically, such conversations tend to end abruptly.
