I just ignored the call. They were using a local area code to make it seem legit, but this is my work mobile and only other mobiles get through here, so I was pretty sure it was some sort of scam - whoever they might be!

According to GDPR, they gotta have your permission before calling you. These firms clearly don’t so just tell them they’re acting illegally and report them to the ICO.

With the new GDPR rules, they're meant to delete your info when you request it. I gave it a go, but as soon as I started asking, they just hung up. I guess that means they can say they never got the ask and keep ringing you. I've got a word for firms like this. Starts with a C and rhymes with Hunts.

Got a call about life insurance, but they refused to say their company name. I mentioned that I'd got the same call about a month ago, and the person on the line was pretty rude, even swearing when I said I wasn’t interested. I asked them to remove me from their call list, but the bloke ended up swearing back at me! It’s really annoying because whenever you block one number, they just ring from another. This number just rang me and I picked up, but stayed quiet. As always, they ended the call pretty quickly. Funny thing is, when I wanted to block it on my phone, there was no option to do so - everything else I get calls from can be blocked. Not sure what's happening but maybe since these calls are now illegal, they just cut off hoping you'll ring them back, so technically they aren't breaking any rules.

Woman claimed to be with Royal London wanting to chat about my life insurance. Then she asked if i even had any insurance. I said, "Which one is it then? Are you calling about a policy i already have or trying to sell me something?" She just said she didn’t get it. Felt like she was being vague on purpose. Best to stay clear.

when i picked up the phone, a recorded voice said the review team had been trying to reach me but couldn’t get through, and they’d call again soon. but when i called the number back, it said it wasn’t in service, told me to check and try again! really odd.
